Chiara Organtini
I am a curator and creative producer passionate about art and public space as site specific interventions, digital experiments, participatory works that question the boundary of spectatorship. My mission is to challenge people imagination through physical experiences that let alternative scenarios emerge. Within Reshape my focus is on form of communitism, art as a space for practicing citizenship and on the creation of flexible governances mirroring a collaborative paradigma.
Since 2009 I am part of indisciplinarte, a i.c.i engaged in artistic processes and territorial development: currently we manage CAOS, a 6000sq multidisciplinary centre in a former factory in the post industrial city of Terni and im co-curating Terni international performing arts festival, born in close connection with the city transition: beyond a festival, it is a creative environment for artists, audiences and curators to co-curate ideas together and “enact thoughts”. Through artistic processes and project as InSitu European platform for creation in public space, we often engage in space-making as a way to experience co-creation with our communities cultivating sense of commons by challenging common sense with unpredictable ideas: walking the city blindfolded or living on tree houses are some of the projects we initiated.
For my engagement in participatory practices, I am part of the transnational and transectorial network Citizenslab and I contributed to the action-research ReCcord and to ADESTE european project on audience development including its current follow up CONNECT. To investigate digital culture as an asset to new democracy I joined Museomix community, the action-research GIFT and I am MCN museum computer scholar. In my background performing arts and neuroscience meet art management (EFA Atelier for festival manager. ISPA global fellowship) and curation principles (Tate Intensive’s program Making Space Giving Space Holding space on reinventing institutions and shared power).
