Agata Adamiecka - Sitek

Agata Adamiecka-Sitek is a theatre researcher, critic and publisher. Her interests include gender, corporeality, politics and policies of art. She is an author of the book „Teatr i tekst. Inscenizacja w teatrze postmodernistycznym” (Theater and text. Mise-en-scène in a postmodern theatre, 2006) and co-editor of the first edition of Jerzy Grotowski’s „Collected texts” (2009). Member of the editorial board of the Polish Theathe Journal and the curatorial team of the Forum of the Future of Culture in Warsaw. Member of the team of experts who worked on the latest cultural policy of Warsaw. She is cooperating with Marta Górnicka on her choral theater since the first project of The Chorus of Women (2010). She teaches at the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw.

This essay is the programme document of a research project Porozumienie (Agreement) at the Powszechny Theatre in Warsaw, about the participatory transformation of the public theatre ‘Powszechny Theatre’ in Warsaw into a feminist cultural institution. A year of research and interviews with employees resulted in texts and practical steps, such as the establishment of an arts and programme board. The authors of the project were Agata Adamiecka-Sitek, Marta Keil, and Igor Stokfiszewski.
