Osmotic Knowledge(s)
During the session, we talked about knowledge and especially the sort of knowledge which is not necessarily coming from the institutions (universities, academies, ..). We were talking about how much we are able to learn from each other, from particular experiences, but also how much we tend to forget the need for knowledge that we receive besides the official, canonized streams of education.
On 16th August we finished the PRALIN project that aimed to interconnect the Prague and Berlin independent performing arts scenes. During the final event, I brought the present artists & culture workers together for a tarot session.
We talked about venues such as Cross Attic as small utopias. Cross Attic is a small dusty space, yet the freedom and independence on the economic system (the venue is subsided by the large cultural centre and thus doesn’t have to pay rent nor has parameters how many things has to be produced there) make it an ideal ground to prototype different sets of experiments not only production-wise but mainly process-wise.

Eventually, I came with a simple proposal: Whenever you meet someone who inspires you, ask them to take several minutes and make them teach you something. It could be a poem, specific knowledge about oceans or history, a choreography, a body practice, … Compost this newly obtained knowledge within you, absorb it. See how this could be beneficial for the future.
