Ani Arutyunyan
I've graduated Yerevan Institute of Theatre and Cinema in 2010, department of Art history. From 2010, when I was an assistant of the press-coordinator at the "Golden Apricot" International Film Festival (Armenia), and my job was connected with the organizing and curating many projects, workshops and conferences during the festival. Since May 2012, I was involved in a Turkish-Armenian Cross-Cultural Drama Project which was performed in Tbilisi with the support of the Office of English Language Programs United States Department of State. It promoted the rising interest for development of the interdisciplinary platform.
From 2011 to 2014, I was a Postgraduate student (Ph.D., Russian Academy of Theatre Аrts) in Moscow. My field of interest included history of American Theatre so I've decided to made several research projects concerning the modern performances in New York, particularly Off-Off-Broadway theatrical experiments, so my skills of organizing and developing the research projects helped me to work with "La Mama" experimental theatre's archive materials in New York, and that became one of the biggest parts of my thesis I had an opportunity to participate in the intensive training program of IETM (Informal European Theatre Meeting) Campus in Lublin (Poland, 2016) for directors and cultural managers. This inspiring experience consisted of participating in all aspects of international working on intercultural communications. From 2016 I am a co-founder of a community organization "Performing Arts Regional Network" in Armenia which supports theatre curators, researchers in the field of performing arts to develop infrastructure for contemporary artists.
