Andrea Möller, Director Media Art Friesland Foundation.
Independent creative producer, born in 1971 in Münster/Germany, studied Master of International Leisure and Tourism Studies in Leeuwarden, Bilbao and London, ever since works in visual arts, preferably with experimental arts projects and festivals as a temporary space for multidisciplinary production and cross-societal, artistic and international encounters, and as advisor for cultural institutions and funding bodies. Was strongly involved in the application process of Leeuwarden Cultural Capital of Europe in 2018. Most significant point of the concept of ‘mienskip’. It describes a strong sense of community and willingness to engage for your social and environmental surroundings and, committed to functioning as an example of sustainable society-building, strongly involving arts as a central agent.
Media Art Friesland runs the Media Art Festival for emerging talents and the LUNA Leeuwarden Urban Night Adventure. Both festivals focus on trends and developments in society and the role artists and technology can play in this. LUNA reaches a big and broad audience through presenting works of light-, sound- and performance art in public space. It creates space, knowledge and curiosity about the experimental and vulnerable works of the emerging international artists the Media Art Festival presents at an indoor location.
Media Art Friesland also engages in cooperation projects with other arts initiatives in the Netherlands and abroad. The international Transloca group consists of artists and creative producers from a variety of countries, who together conduct experiments with trans-local development and production of arts projects at both peripheral and urban locations. This group has realized nine encounters in the past 3 years, including performance, food experiences, sound- and video art. Now Transloca wishes to bring the experience into the Reshape project, learn from others and work on future strategies.
