Two RESHAPE workshops at the Biennale de la danse de Lyon
On June 8th, the leading partner of RESHAPE, ONDA, in collaboration with the Biennale de la danse de Lyon, Institut français and CCN de Rillieux-la-Pape organized two workshops. In the workshops, two prototypes have been represented - the Gamified Workshop Toolkit and the Tarot Reading Session.
Reimagining the art world facilitated by Pau Cata and Petr Dlouhý.
The "Reimagining the art world: on transnational/postnational practices" workshop was an opportunity to reflect together on the possible transformations of the practices of our sector. For this, an experimental tool: a set of cards inspired by a tarot deck and created by artists from Europe and the Mediterranean was used. This particular deck of tarot cards did not predict the future (although the session might indeed enhance some magic... ), but helped reflect on the present situation and provided a more holistic vision of it. The cards were used as a basis for discussion, to forge conversation and action in a way that was playful and that encouraged responses from various perspectives. It also helped uncover ideas and practical ways to move forward in participants’ own work to inform a fairer arts ecology.
Gamified Workshop Toolkit - Solidarity values. The workshop was self-managed with support by Doreen Toutikian, Dorota Ogrodzka and Aniko Rácz.
During this workshop, ‘The Gamified Workshop Toolkit’, a card game specially designed for teams from different cultures, backgrounds, or personal situations, that are just beginning their collaboration was tested.
The cards gave participants the chance to express what values are important to them in their collaboration, to understand how others think and what is important and necessary to work together. Through these conversations, people involved in a collaboration had the chance to recognise and identify mechanisms that, although often invisible, cause tensions and difficulties. It helped teams to develop their own framework of values that support solidarity.
Finally, the game also gave a chance to get to know each other through the discussed values before embarking on the design and/or implementation of their project.
